SOCKET SCREWS
DIN 7984 Low Head Socket Cap Screws
Low head socket cap screws for restricted headroom, subject to the reduced loadability of the head design.

Product Overview
A low cylindrical head reduces the height required above the fastening surface while retaining an internal hexagon drive. This configuration is useful in tooling, compact mechanisms and machinery where a standard socket cap head does not fit. The shallower drive and head geometry require their own installation limits, with tool engagement and head clearance checked on the assembly drawing.
For an accurate quotation, specify the thread size, nominal length, material requirement and surface finish, together with the intended mating component. Dimensions, inspection requirements and the exact material and finish combination must be agreed before order confirmation.

Size Range / Technical Notes
- Size Range
- Specify thread diameter, pitch, under-head length and maximum permissible head height. Exact size and material combinations require confirmation.
- Technical Notes
- DIN 7984:2022-03 explicitly addresses reduced loadability. It replaces the 2021-10 edition. A low head screw must not be assigned the full tensile capacity or tightening torque of a DIN 912 screw solely from its material class.
